A Case of Renal Cell Carcinoma with Bladder Metastasis

Abstract
The metastasis of the renal cell carcinoma have been found in about 25% at its presentation. In contrast to this the incidence of apparently solitary metastasis has been reported to be 1~3%. The common sites for these metastasis are lung, L.N., bone, adrenal, liver, opposite kidney or brain. It is rare that renal cell carcinoma occurs in bladder or ureter, particularly without presence of the generalized metastasis, as compared with renal pelvis tumors.
We experienced a case of renal cell carcinoma with a single metastasis to the bladder in 58 year old male patient. There was no evidence of metastasis to other sites.
Radical nephrectomy with limited regional lymphadenectomy was performed following transurethral resection of the metastatic bladder tumor. The tumors of the kidney and the bladder were revealed as adenocarcinoma of clear cell type on the pathologic findings.
There has been still no evidence of recurrence since operation 6 months ago.
